One coordinated insurance strategy for your growing practice.
Get a QuoteManaging Insurance Across Multiple Dental Locations
Insurance by Dentists helps coordinate malpractice, property, business income, cyber, and employee coverage across your offices. We review how locations, providers, and legal entities are insured, where limits are shared, and how your program needs to change as you grow.
What changes when you add locations?

- 01
More Named Entities
Each operating company, property-holding entity, and management company may need to be properly addressed.
- 02
Shared Insurance Limits
A claim at one location may reduce the limits available to the rest of the organization.
- 03
Different Property Exposures
Every office has its own equipment, improvements, lease obligations, and business-income needs.
- 04
A Larger Workforce
More employees and providers increase workers’ compensation and employment-practices exposures.
- 05
Connected Technology
A cyber incident involving one system or vendor could affect every location.
- 06
Continued Growth
New locations and acquisitions must be incorporated into the program as the organization expands.
Coverage coordinated across your practice
A coordinated program may include several policies or insurers. We review the coverages below alongside disability and life insurance for owners and key providers. The appropriate structure and limits depend on your entities, locations, staffing, and operations.
- Professional and entity liability
- Property and business income
- General and umbrella liability
- Workers’ compensation
- Cyber liability
- Employment practices liability
- Commercial auto and hired/non-owned auto
- Employee benefits
Common insurance questions from growing practices
Often, locations can be coordinated under one strategy, but that does not necessarily mean one policy or insurer. The available structure depends on your legal entities, states, services, and underwriting. Review which offices and entities are insured, how limits apply, and whether separate policies or endorsements are needed.
Contact us before an opening or acquisition. Review the address, entity, equipment, tenant improvements, payroll, providers, and any lease or lender requirements. Confirm the insurer’s acceptance, effective dates, and any endorsements or separate policies needed. A new office should not be assumed to be automatically covered.
It depends on the policy. If offices or providers share an aggregate limit, covered payments for one claim may reduce the amount remaining for other claims. Review whether limits apply across the organization, by location, or by insured, and how defense costs affect them.
Review the states where employees work, the insured employers, payroll, and job classifications. Coverage may require different policy arrangements depending on state rules and insurer availability. Tell us about a new state or employee travel before work begins so we can review the applicable coverage requirements.
Confirm each provider’s covered services, work locations, and employing entities. Review individual and group limits, practice entity coverage, and how the policy handles new hires and departures. If claims-made coverage ends, review tail or prior-acts options and responsibility for arranging coverage before the transition.
Practice property and liability policies do not replace individual disability income protection. Owners and key providers can review coverage for a qualifying illness or injury, including the disability definition, monthly benefit, and waiting period. Business overhead expense or other business protection options may also be relevant, depending on your ownership and operations.
